The fire is still burning

Happy Friday,

So nice seeing you on Tuesday at our Exec luncheon. Merci d'être venu!Every week, for the past few years, I have made a habit of sending a note about something that has inspired me to my team, colleagues and friends on brand building. With your permission, I’d like to keep this weekly routine of staying curious. You are receiving this email because our paths have crossed at some point, and I value our interactions.

Here's this week email :

How was your week?

Mine was sooo fun, welcoming our country manager, Montreal CMOs, and agency leads for lunch at our offices, MCing the Think Data event and doing a fireside chat with my friend Caroline Losson for the Women Lead program on the value of mentoring and coaching. No wonder I lost my voice!

Lots to celebrate and make Google Montreal shine!

Brands also never miss a chance to celebrate; reinforcing their purpose and value in impressive anniversary ads will help them:

- Energize the Core | Engage core fans and drive loyalty like More than a hero of Marvel

- Strengthen their Image | Celebrating the past and future like Disney's 100 years of wonder

- Shift the Narrative | Pivot to the future as BMW did with the next 100 years.

But they tend to be self-congratulatory.

As Caroline eloquently explained how she succeeded in big industry change throughout her career, it should always be about the consumers (or the consumer of your customer, for that matter). Full stop.

Well, Burger King remembered the golden rule and did just that,

Finding a beautiful way to make it about their consumer while anchoring their brand truth with their latest birthday campaign. Their burgers are grilled, flamed grilled, to be exact, and they've been that way since 1954.

What better way to celebrate 70 years than to showcase it with couples keeping the fire alive?  Captured in drive-thrus and car parks, older couples are seen in steamy embraces, declaring their passion and love for each other 70 years later.

Now who wants a Whopper?

See you next week
