The empire strikes back

Happy Friday,

How was your week?

Mine was energized by Google IO and YouTube Brandcast the same week. (Hoo-ah)

I love these types of things: sales conferences, investor days, shareholders' meetings, and so on. I'm all in. The energy, the anxiety, and the enormous amount of work they require—sign me up.

Yes, these are made to showcase the plans, the campaigns, and innovations for customers and consumers. But never underestimate its impact on your #1 ambassador, your employees.

It ignites the togetherness

It's oh-so-motivating

Unleash the pride of who you work for.

It keeps the energy high and shares/sales climbing to new highs.

The music used for these events is always memorable. Sometimes, Are you ready for it? Imperial March, Can't Hold Us, rock' roll. Each delivers the unlining message you want to convey to your "army." Google made sure of it with their choice this year.

If you want to see it in action, enjoy these:

And it's not over. Next week is the Google Marketing Live event in Bay View, which I had the pleasure of experiencing a few times while at the Yellow Pages. (Katy Perry was also there, by the way; we're besties now.)

The event will be held for the first time in Toronto, Canada, on June 5 and for the second time in Montreal on June 11. Here's to the empire striking back!

Until then

See you next week
